The amphitheater was one of the earliest forms of entertainment in Transylvania. It has been preserved through many centuries to now, where it is still the center of amusement. There has even been some several bands come to the amphitheater. Mostly, it is local dramas and plays, though.

This is the older parts of Baia Mare where some locals can be found as well as a few shopping areas. Overtime a few buildings have been restored but for the most part it remains just as the name says.

In Baia Mare there is not only the older town but also a newer addition that has been recently added that is filled with things that are more up to date and with the times. There are some great hot spots here.

Dracula or no Dracula, the castle dating back to the 14th Century is beautiful and spectacular and the mountain scenery provides a great backdrop for it. Recently renovated, its white soaring towers keep a watchful eye on the Bran pass that was historically the main link between Transylvania and Wallachia.

To the east, the Bucegi Mountains have a very steep slope. At a higher elevation is the Bucegi Plateau, where wind and rain have turned the rocks into spectacular figures such as the Sphinx and Babele. The Bucegi is believed to be the Dacian holy mountain Kogainon, on which the mythical figure Zalmoxis resided in a cave.

In Romanian, "Piatra Craiului" means "Rock of the King". The descent at the southern end leads into a karst landscape of deep gorges and pitted slopes where water penetrating the rock has carved a series of caves.

Densus hosts a very old orthodox church, built in the 13th century on the place of an even older one (10-11th centuries). The builders used tiles, tombstones and columns, and even small statues and a stone-carved figure of a lion.

The aqueducts, also called the bath houses, are a fairly ancient way of bathing, but it has been renovated to accommodate the times. It has one large room comparable to a public swimming pool, then there is separate rooms that are labeled men or women. The water is actually very pristine and the aqueducts are beautiful buildings. However, there are no rules here like there might be at a swimming pool, so... do what you like.

One of the largest Gothic churches in Romania. If you watch the walls closely, you might spot an old stone canonball stuck among the bricks, witness of a turbulent history.

A baroque building of the 18th century considered the most representative for the baroque style of Transylvania.

This institute was conceived as a universal model for the synthetic basic research of the subterranean domain. The Speleological Institute consists of five departments representing the following branches: Biospeleology, Phreatobiology, Speleopaleontology, Geospeology and Regional Karstology and Karst Cadastre. Similar directions are also developed in Speleological department in Cluj with emphasis on Speleoclimatology and Glaciology.

Merrifield's bookstore is a small store with a welcoming feel to it.the exterior and interior reflect an older building. Inside the store's walls are lined with books ranging from older novels, to brand new releases. There are chairs and couches in specified areas where readers can grab a book and spend a couple hours browsing. There is almost a library feeling to the store, but at the end of the day, sales are made.

Today, the medieval air still rules over the old city. Like all the large settlements built in the troubled medieval times, the town is a fortress. The remnants of the three rings of defense walls, along with the nine towers, make much of the appeal.

As symbols of local government, city and town halls have distinctive architecture and may be buildings of great historical significance, but today, contain more modern buildings.

Each guild in town (the carpenters, tailors, tin-makers, blacksmith, etc) was in charge of building a dungeon, so the architecture of each of these nine towers is different. The highest and most majestic of all is the Tower of the Clock, which once sheltered the city hall.

This nice and intricate piece of machinery has been working continuously since the middle-ages, and the carved wooden puppets still rotate showing the position of the planets. Stop for a while on the balcony above the clock and feast your eyes on the landscape of the Tarnava.

There is nothing like a welcome to Heaven with the introduction of the pearly white gates we are all told about as mortals. It truly is a magnificent place to stand and a place where only angels can go beyond.

The city in the clouds is where all angels are allowed to feel at home. It is the place where they reside and stay. Even the ones sent to Earth can come back up to feel safe and at home again.

A dark, dank place where the boatman to hell is usually waiting for you. Only demons and the souls of sinners can be taken beyond this point. Unless you are a very brave mortal or angel.

Not Las Vegas obviously. This is the real deal. A place built off of sin and bad will. Demons feel comfortable here but anyone else would probably get the chills.

Basically your worst nightmare over and over and over again. Have fun with that.

Absolute darkness. Absolute nothing. Many have their souls trapped, so their cries are constantly heard. Don’t get lost in the nothing.
